Microsoft shares Office 2021 pricing details – Redmond Channel Partner

Here’s what the new office products will cost

Pricing details for the next generation Microsoft Office products, which will be released on October 5, are now available.

Office 2021 perpetual license products for consumers and small businesses will be available for purchase on Tuesday from Microsoft or retailers. This same availability is presumably true for Mac product versions, but Microsoft’s Friday announcement was not specific.

Here are the prices for the new Office 2021 perpetual license products for home and small business for PC and Mac:

  • Office Home and Student 2021 for $ 149.99. It comes with “Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Microsoft Teams for PC and Mac”.
  • Office Home and Business 2021 for $ 249.99. It adds “Outlook for PC and Mac and the rights to use applications for commercial purposes” in addition to the applications listed above.

Office 2021 users can create free OneDrive accounts, which provide access to 5 GB of storage.

Perpetual licensed Office 2021 users only pay once for the product, but the product does not benefit from new feature updates (like Microsoft 365 products). Finally, perpetual license products may not be able to run on a newer version of Windows. For example, the ad warned that “Office 2013 will not be supported on Windows 11”.

Office 365 products
The new Microsoft 365 productivity products for home and small business are available October 5 for purchase through Microsoft subscriptions.

Here are the prices for the new Microsoft 365 subscriptions for individuals and small businesses:

  • Microsoft 365 Personal for $ 6.99 per month or $ 69.99 per year.
  • Microsoft 365 Family for $ 9.99 per month or $ 99.99 per year, which supports “families and households of up to six people.”

These two Microsoft 365 subscriptions allow users to access “premium versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, OneDrive, Microsoft Editor and Microsoft Family Safety for PC, Mac and mobile,” the announcement explained. In addition, the PC versions of these Microsoft 365 subscriptions come with “Access and Publisher for PC”.

Microsoft 365 subscribers also have access to 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage.

Microsoft 365 subscription plans give users the right to create and edit files as long as they are subscribed. Their files become read-only versions if they end the subscription by not paying their monthly or annual fees.

LTSC Office
Last month, Microsoft released Office LTSC (Long Term Service Channel), another type of perpetual license version of the product.

Office LTSC is only for systems that cannot tolerate frequent updates. It is considered a non-subscription type of product, despite regular feature updates for a total of five years.
