Microsoft is preparing to host a new educational event on November 9, next week. While the company hasn’t revealed much about the event, the latest announcement suggests Microsoft will be announcing education-related updates for Windows. The the event will be start at 12:00 p.m. ET, which is around 9:30 p.m. in India.

“Join us at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, November 9, as we share an overview of the latest technological solutions while examining the learning gaps left by the pandemic. Hear from Microsoft partners, school leaders, and a few special guests, and learn about new and existing Microsoft Education technologies, ”the company said.

The news comes weeks after the company rolled out its new Windows 11 operating system and launched new Surface products. There are rumors that the company may make announcements regarding operating system and hardware updates.

We were able to witness the launch of a low cost Surface Laptop SE. A report published by Windows Central claims that Microsoft has designed an affordable “no-frills laptop” for “use by students in a classroom environment,” according to their sources.

The next Surface laptop is said to have an 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. It could be powered by the Intel N4120 Celeron processor, which will be supported by up to 8 GB of RAM. The device should contain a single USB-A, a headphone jack, and a USB-C port.

It will likely offer a full-size keyboard and trackpad, according to the cited source. The Surface Laptop SE has a plastic construction, according to reports. The rumor mill suggests the new laptop could cost less than $ 400 (around Rs 29,670).

The company could also unveil a new, lighter edition of Windows 11, which would be aimed at the education market. If we are to believe the reports, the new version could be called “Windows 11 SE”.
