New updates are added at the bottom of this story …….
The original story (published November 24, 2021) follows:
Microsoft Flight Simulator, one of the most popular and realistic simulators, is constantly receiving new planes. Recently, its market place added the PMDG Douglas DC-6 model.
Many users were waiting for the availability of the new PMDG Douglas DC-6 model in order to get a realistic flying experience. However, for Xbox users, the plane would be unusable.
Microsoft Flight Simulator PMDG Douglas DC-6 broke controls on Xbox
Microsoft Flight Simulator players on Xbox consoles report that the new PMDG Douglas DC-6 is broken because the controls are not working properly (1, 2, 3).
Apparently, the controls that should start the plane are not responding. In addition, all the indicators on the aircraft interface are frozen or displayed in black:
For those who are not familiar: – All of the cockpit controls do not respond at all or most of the time. (The only thing that seems to work consistently is the armrest) -All dials and gauge displays are frozen or blank. -Buttons on airplane information / control ipad do not work half the time, some options never work. -Starting the flight on the runway causes the aircraft engines to stop immediately after loading. -Several external components will follow the in-flight flight pattern, such as GPU and doors. – Missing flight model animations (ailerons, rudder, tail risers)
The most players have managed to do with the PMDG Douglas DC-6 is to get the engines running. However, shortly after, these will turn off on their own.
Hi guys and girls,
so i just got the PMDG DC-6 on xbox and my problem is quite simple …
I cannot press and on the button or switch and switch (but turn some buttons) on the airplane.
I am able to use the iPad on the left and crank the engines by pressing: Ready to start / Taxi but they go out after a few seconds at idle or on throttle.
I know the Gust Leaver… I can’t press on it either.
Edit: I can’t even move the Yoke an inch
Some ask to remove the plane until the issues are resolved
Given the seriousness of the problem, some are calling for the aircraft to be removed from the market until it is corrected. After all, the PMDG Douglas DC-6 comes at a hefty cost of $ 55:
PMDG DC-6 on Xbox is not working. The switches cannot be turned correctly. The aircraft is 100% non-pilotable. There has been a report on the Discord and PMDG forums.
For a $ 54.99 plane, I think that’s going to piss off a lot of customers. This should be removed from the market until a fix is issued.
The MFS team is aware of the reports
The Microsoft Flight Simulator team have confirmed that they are already aware of the issues with PMDG Douglas DC-6 controls on Xbox. However, there is no estimated date for the arrival of a fix.
If there are any new developments in this regard in the coming days, we will update this article. So. stay tuned with us.
Update 1 (November 25)
IST 12:30 am: Microsoft Flight Simulator support has just confirmed that the PMDG DC-6 is temporarily removed from the Xbox MSFS market. This, while they are working with PMDG to resolve the issue.
