New updates are added at the bottom of this history ……
The original story (published October 28, 2021), follows:
Microsoft Flight Simulator is without a doubt one of the most beautiful video games available today. The game is developed by Asobo Studio and published by Xbox Game Studios.
It is the predecessor of 2006 Flight Simulator X. Flight Simulator was released on August 18 of last year with the VR version coming out later in December 2020.
Praised by critics and gamers, Microsoft has managed to recreate the entire topography of Earth in Flight Simulator. The weather in the game even simulates the real conditions of that location.
Unsurprisingly, Microsoft Flight Simulator won “The Game Awards 2020” for best simulation / strategy game. However, not everything turned out well.
Frequent updates have caused gamers to experience issues like Premium Deluxe Edition not showing on Xbox and mapping issues with Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS One.
Recently Microsoft released another game update with players experiencing loading and crashing issues. Players say the map is not loading causing endless gameplay on the loading screen.
I just wanted to ask everyone if they see long delays in the initial MSFS startup as well – before you even get to the main page where you choose the plane, airport, etc. I see long delays, sometimes infinite, before reaching the start page / menus. It started with SU6. Before that, my system was taking maybe 3 minutes to reach the main start page. Now sometimes it takes 2 or 3 minutes, other times (most of the time now) it can be 15 or 20 minutes or more. Sometimes it ends up getting there. Other times, I give up and close MSFS.
Last night I had the exact same problem. Very long loading time to even reach the start menu. Then select FbW A320N and start the ESNS airport (Orbx), then click on FLY. Then the loading screen again took about 15 minutes (maybe longer) and CTD. I tried time and time again, but only had long loading screens …
While some said this happened after the Sim 6 update, others were quick to blame community mods and add-ons for the crashes. But gamers encountered the same set of issues when running the game in safe mode where all community folders are disabled, indicating that this is not a bug on their part.
now reduced because its sim issue is running in safe mode as it disables community folders so there are no conflicts Asobo PLZ FIX THIS ASAP
Excatly some airports charge some not even some discovery flights do not charge eg paris new york I just tested them in safe mode same problem !!
The developers have yet to recognize the problem. That said, players have also reported an issue with the live weather forecast.
Live weather (clouds) is not working for me here in Sydney Australia. It looks like this was first reported over an hour ago, it would be nice if they could recognize that there is an issue with at least one bar at the top of the forum …
So I am not able to get either of the ATMs. The live weather is completely down. There is no weather displayed on the world map, and even though I choose an area where there are known storm conditions, I see clear skies. Anyone else see this?
Fortunately, the developers seem to be aware of the Live Weather not working issue with a Flight Simulator community manager confirming the same.
The team is aware of reports that Live Weather and possibly other online systems are not functioning properly. We are currently investigating and will post an update as soon as we have more information.
When Asobo Studio fixes the crashing and loading issue with the live weather, we’ll release an update, so be sure to keep checking this space.
Update 1 (October 29)
5:52 p.m. (IST): The issue of Live Weather not working has been resolved, confirms a Community Manager in the game’s support forums.
Update 2 (November 19)
11:21 am (IST): Microsoft Flight Simulation support now confirms there is an issue with the live weather and reports that they are working on it.
