How to Get Rid of Horrible Outlook Amazon Summary Card
Outlook has a feature called Events from Email which will automatically add events to your calendar based on the content of your emails.
These can be flight bookings, car bookings and package deliveries.
Unfortunately, what should be a useful feature is actually a major downside, as the summary card Microsoft uses completely hides the viewer window in the Outlook desktop client and also steals your mouse focus, which means you won’t cannot scroll it using your scroll. thumbwheel, but have to find the scroll bar if you want to see the actual content of the email rather than the Microsoft summary.
The summary card can be collapsed by clicking a tiny slider, but when you return to the same email, it is expanded again.
Infuriatingly, there is no setting in the Outlook desktop app to turn off the feature, but if you are using Outlook.com as your email provider, there is an easy way.
Just visit outlook.live.com/mail/0/options/calendar/calendarInEmail which will take you directly to the Outlook.com settings page.
Then select ‘Don’t show event summaries in emails or on my calendar‘.
Unfortunately, the change won’t affect existing emails and appointments, but it will prevent new ones from being created in the future.
